A downloadable game

Drain

DRAIN is an action RPG set in a dark fantasy world after a sudden catastrophe. The focus lies on its combat gameplay and deep story, where the destinies of intriguing companions revolve around yours. Exploring the world and solving its puzzles, mysteries, and struggles will be crucial.

Available on Windows and Linux at launch.

Synopsis

A sudden storm strikes the land. It corrupts all life into monstrous beings, tormented by their sins and ravenous for what they desire most.

Some are lucky enough survive, though the only place safe from the storm they can find is the sewers. They form a colony there, but soon enough realize not everyone can live in harmony.

Luna is one of the lucky survivors. However, she was unconscious for much longer than any human could survive. How is that possible?

She craves answers, both for herself and for the world.

Who are we?

We are PENKINTON, an indie team of 3 people—2 artists and 1 programmer. As you can deduce, both our labor and our funds are very limited.

Our philosophy will always be pro-player: quality, optimization, and entertainment. At the same time, we want to avoid falling into the trap of absurdly long development times.

We know it's a difficult task, but we will work hard to demonstrate our dedication and talent and earn your trust.

Development

With the above in mind, we will try to be objective about our plans for DRAIN.

DEMO on itch.io

April - May

The goal of this initial release is to have a considerable reach and find potential bugs.

DEMO on Steam

Next Fest in June

To take advantage of the additional visualization that Steam offers to demos at this festival.

Early Access

Late 2026

We know that Early Access is not well received by many—rightly so. Even though we'll continue working on DRAIN with what we have, we can't afford the quality and the development speed we'd like for the game without funding. That doesn't mean we'll stop working on the game without it, but it'll be much slower. We also don't want to ask for donations.

That's why we plan to release the prologue and chapters 1 and 2 in Early Access, so that those interested in the project will receive something in return for their support.

The price won't change after Early Access.

After that…

We will adapt to changes based on player support and suggestions. If all goes well, we plan to update the game with 2 more chapters during 2027.

This is all a very general overview. For more details and updates, follow the development blog here on itch.io or follow us on our social media channels: X | Facebook | YouTube | Instagram | Bluesky | Threads | TikTok
